New Reporting Application Development​

Client Objective

The client required a complete replacement of its existing crime reporting application and its associated support arrangements. The previous system was outdated, lacked scalability, and presented significant security vulnerabilities. It relied heavily on manual processes, delivered a poor user experience, and was unable to meet compliance requirements or integrate effectively with law enforcement systems. The client needed a modern, secure, and user‑friendly platform that could handle increasing volumes of reports, ensure anonymity, and provide robust analytics.

Our Solution

We ran a competitive procurement process (Tender/RFQ), ensuring a transparent and robust methodology to identify the provider best aligned with the client’s technical, security, and operational requirements. While we did not build the system ourselves, we led the full selection process, evaluated submissions against defined criteria, and recommended the preferred supplier.

Once the supplier was appointed, we oversaw the end‑to‑end delivery of the new reporting application. Using an Agile delivery framework supported by best‑practice project management, we guided the project through discovery, iterative design, and development sprints. Throughout delivery we ensured the chosen provider met their obligations, including requirements validation, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and rigorous quality assurance.

The final solution incorporated secure system architecture, multilingual capabilities, real-time monitoring, and API‑based integration with law enforcement systems. It also delivered advanced analytics and reporting tools, aligned with privacy, security, and data protection legislation.

Outcome and Impact

The new reporting application significantly improved operational efficiency and user experience. It enabled secure, anonymous reporting; streamlined workflows; and enhanced data integrity. Following launch, the client reported significant improvements in system reliability, reduced administrative workload, and increased public engagement.
